Paul attended a meeting on the bus service's around our villages. EYMS, the service providers are asking residents what they want from a bus service. If anybody has any suggestions, opinions on this matter please let me have them.
To assist you they want to know things like:
What destinations do you want?
What times?
Where do you want the buses to go, ie do you want to go straight to York or to Pocklington to catch a bus to York etc.
Any other suggestions welcome.
The reason for this consultation is that in 2013/14 the present timetable will cost £57,111 and will carry an estimated 5,086 passengers. This gives a subsidy per passenger journey of £11.23. Nearly 1800 of those passenger journeys are on the Tuesday only 196 service from Aughton to York.
EYMS benchmark figure for representing value for money is £3.50 per passenger journey.
Please let Paul have any comments by Friday 19th October.
Paul's email is pm242@btinternet.com
Thanks
Paul Ward
