The Christmas walk is on Sunday 30th at 10:30am, meeting at Mill Lane.
We will be walking to Seaton Ross, and may be calling at the pub for a quick drink.

Winners Of The Intervillage Olympics
A big thanks to all those who attended the inter-village olympics back in September, it was an enjoyable afternoon and guess what, Bielby won. So well done Bielby.
Thanks to all those who took part, a winning combo! We had a real mix of ages with the young ones really enjoying themselves, it was great to see so many families attending. The Quigley's and the Smith's made it a real family affair inviting Grandparents to attend and picnics were taken to make a real day of it.
As you can see it was an enjoyable afternoon and great for all the family. Bielby had a good turn out, so thanks Bielby for helping to make this another great event.
Thanks must go to Hayton for organising & hosting the event this year.

Volunteers Needed For Produce Show Preparation
The 23rd Bielby Produce Show will be held on Saturday 4th August 2012.
We are looking for volunteers to help put up the marquees in the church grounds on Thursday 2nd August from 6pm.
We may also need some helpers on the Friday daytime to put the tables into place and the cloths on the tables ready for the exhibits. We have a plan of the layout from last year so hopefully this is not too difficult a job!
Also Friday evening we may need help putting up the signing in & teas and coffee marquee if we haven't got it put up on the Thursday evening.
Let us know if you can help on the Thursday or Friday. Committee members include Richard and Christine, Janet, Graham, Peter Y, Jenny S and me (Sara). Thanks in advance.

Bielby Music Festival Sunday 26th August 2012
Bielby Music Festival - The Picnic, will be held on Sunday 26th August 2012 from 3pm til 10.30pm.
The Bielby Music Festival is back by popular demand!
The festival is raising money for Marie Curie Cancer Care and Cruse Bereavement Care.
Tickets are £10 per adult and £5 for a child under 16.
You can make an additional donation if you wish.
There will be a bar and toilet facilities.
We hope people will bring a picnic hamper, umbrella, blanket and seat and settle down for great music and maybe a few beers!
The festival and parking will be in a field behind Ivy house, by kind permission of Ged and Stacey.
Another great line up of top local bands and musicians including Northern Rock and Pink Cadilac!

Village Olympics 16th September 2012
This years Intervillage Olympics is to be held on Sunday 16th September 2012 at Hayton, so ample notice for all budding athletes to get training!
It's a great day for all the family.

1st Cricket Match Result 2012
We just wanted to let you know that Bielby won by 6 wickets in the game played at Ellerton on the 29th May 2012.
Bielby v Ellerton - Ellerton 53 all out and Bielby 56 for 4.
Top scorer was Edward Simpson on 27 not out.
Well bowled to Neil Spinks taking 4 wickets and Will Simpson, Edward Simpson and Stuart Rushton taking 2 wickets each.
Thanks to all who played and supporters on the night.
Next game against Wheldrake - date to be arranged.

New Cricket Season 2012
Bielby CC have drawn Ellerton CC away for the first round of the Canon Headley Cup this year.
Match to be played on either Friday 25th or Tuesday 29th May 2012.

Jubilee Tickets
Thank you to all the villagers who have let us know whether they can attend the Bielby Jubilee Celebrations.
The Jubilee event is now open to friends and family so if you would like to request tickets for family and friends then please let us know.

Tickets On Sale For Ellie's Fundraising Musical Event 21st April 2012

In Everingham Village Hall On Saturday 21st April there will be a Musical Afternoon, 3-6pm, including Jazz, Folk and Fun, a delicious home-cooked tea (including a vegetarian option), an open bar with Local Ale available. The tickets are £10 per person and £5 for under 14s. Tickets are available from Beatrice, Jon, Ellie or Mae 01759-319432 0r 07931-909900. We will do the rounds soon too, limited spaces available so book early!!!

On May Bank Holiday Weekend, Ellie, Mae and Beatrice will be cycling to the seaside and back on 'Ladies Shopper Bicycles' with a nights camping thrown in!!! We are looking for sponsors for our magnificent effort and forms will be available to pledge your dosh on the Musical Afternoon in Everingham, and will also be in general circulation from 1st April.
Ellie Stanford, from The Mill, is going on a trip to Venezuela in July this year for 6 weeks. Whilst she is there she will be working with a team from the UK building a community centre and planting trees to help prevent landslides during the rainy season. It is a very worthwhile cause and she is very passionate about it. She has to raise £2500 to cover the cost of the trip and this is how she is going to do it!!!

23rd Bielby Produce Show Saturday 4th August 2012
We just wanted to let you know that the 23rd Bielby Produce Show will be held on Saturday 4th August 2012.
The leaflet and entry forms will be delivered shortly so that you can start to get your entries ready.
This year we would like to introduce a Bucket O Spuds Competition - this will be £5 entry and you will receive a bucket and a seed potato so that you can attempt to grow the most potatoes by weight! The person who grows the heaviest amount of potatoes will win a cash prize! A leaflet will be coming round shortly so that you can let us know if you are interested.

Union Jack Bunting & Flags Wanted For Jubilee Celebrations
The Jubilee Committee have had their first meeting and come up with a plan for the Jubilee Celebrations for the village which the committee members are now looking into in more detail. We will let you know what has been decided as soon as possible but we hope that the main celebration will take place on Monday 4th June 2012, so keep this date free if possible!
In the meantime we were wondering if anyone had any union jack bunting or union jack flags they would be willing to lend us for the jubilee celebrations, if so please let us know via the contact form. Thank you.

Flood Liaison Group Meeting 10th February
Paul has asked me to let you all know that he will be attending the council's Flood Liaison Group meeting on the 10th February 2012.
There will be a session at the end of the meeting for questions to be asked about flooding issues.

Local Archaeology Talk At The Church 8th February
WEDNESDAY 8 FEBRUARY 7.30 pm in St Giles's Church, Bielby
An illustrated talk about our local archaeology:
''Exploring an Ancient Landscape - the Foulness Valley''
- by Dr Peter Halkon of Hull University
Peter is the expert on the archaeology of our district. The River Foulness starts in the fields between Bielby, Everingham and Harswell, flowing down to the Humber.
Peter discovered the 2,500 year-old logboat near Holme OSM and excavated the Roman remains under Hayton village. Some of the woodwork found there was the best crafted ever discovered in the former Roman Empire.
Tickets: £5.00 including light refreshments
Only 50 tickets available (small church!), so book early to avoid disappointment

Queen’s Diamond Jubilee 2012 Celebration Ideas
The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee will take place in June 2012.
The village would like to mark the occasion with a celebration, we would love to hear your ideas so that we can get organised.
Ideas that have been mentioned so far include:
Street Party down Mill Lane or Gale Carr Lane.
Picnic in the barn.
Hogroast or bring your own BBQ!
Children's fancy dress competition.
