Harvest Festival and People's Pantry
Harvest Festival and People's Pantry
Just a reminder that the village Harvest Festival is this Sunday 16th October at 6.30 pm. Everyone is welcome.
Instead of decorating the church with fresh produce we shall use non-perishable foods which can then be given to the People's Pantry, our local food bank.
If you'd like to donate any tins or packets of food, the church will be open 10-5 Saturday and 11-5 Sunday. You can leave your gifts on the table just inside the door.
All donations will be gratefully received. Thank you very much.

Church, Harvest & Food Bank
Church, Harvest and Food Bank
Sadly, due to Covid-19 and Government restrictions, we are unable to have our customary Harvest Festival, which supports The People's Pantry, our local food bank.
However, The People's Pantry is likely to be more necessary than ever this winter.
To help, the church will be open 10.00 am to 6.00 pm on Friday 2nd and Saturday 3rd October. If villagers wish to give their usual support (non-perishable food, cleaning materials and toiletries), they can leave items on the table just inside the church door.
Our Holy Communion service, 9.15 am Sunday 4th October will have a harvest theme and afterwards all the donations will go to The People's Pantry.
(The People's Pantry is now a delivery service; if anyone is in need, they can contact our Rector, Stephen, on any day with a shopping list and he (or another volunteer) will deliver.
Contact: Revd. Canon Stephen Cope 01430-626728 or stephenvcope@tiscali.co.uk)

Harvest Festival Sunday 4th October 2015
Some of the village children are learning a song and will sing at the harvest festival. There will be a singing rehearsal 5.30pm on Friday 2nd October at the Church.
1 - Bees or some other insect - Lara is doing a bee.
2 - Working or helping animals like a sheep/guard dog, horse, donkey or mule
3 - Hedgehog or badger
4 - Birds or small mammals
5 - Dairy - hens, ducks, cows and goats - Thomas is doing a cow.
If we could get at least one from each category on A3 if possible, with name and subject on the back (to help when John holds them up) that would be great. If we don't recruit enough artists John will get the pictures from some other source. If a child would prefer instead to draw/paint something else like a tractor/combine/cornfield etc, John can work that in. Please bring the artwork along to the reheasal on Friday. Thanks.
