Jubilee Thanks

Hi All,

We can hardly put into words how amazing our jubilee event was from start to finish it was just fabulous. Thanks to all for helping make it such a wonderful event and making memories for us all. It was great coming together as a community.

Thanks to Dale, Leeanne, Will and Ed and all the team at Stoneleigh, Val and Pete, Alex, Tony, Helen, Steve, Ian, Judith and the Simpson family and all the band plus all our fabulous helpers in the village who made it a super day.

Thanks to all those who helped to clear, clean and decorate the barn prior to the event, to those who brought down the much needed chairs, tables, bales and other equipment - speakers, pa system, lights, staging, band equipment etc, thanks for the food, buns and traybakes went down a treat. Thanks for all the bunting, children's games, flags, photos, lights & table cloths that helped to make the barn look special plus the jubilee table arrangements by some villagers and the jubilee squares made by some of the village children and teens. Thanks for the live music and for preparing the children's food and helping on the day with serving the food. The bouncy castle and sports day games, drinks and cakes at Stoneleigh were a great hit with the children and adults and the medals for the fancy dress competition will be treasured for a long time to come. The children all looked brilliant in their fancy dress costumes so thanks for all your efforts.

Thanks to all those who helped with the smooth running of the event on the day and then all those who helped with the clear up on Sunday.

Thanks must also go to Laveracks for the pie and peas and Waterland Event Hire for the hire of the toilets.

Thanks to everyone who attended the event for making the day so special, everyone really got into the spirit of it and the sea of red, white and blue parading up the village was certainly a sight to see.

Thanks must go to the staff and residents of Stoneleigh for making the large crowd of villagers, friends, family and of course the "queen" so welcome.

Dale wondered if it would be ok to put some photos of the children in the sports day on the Stoneleigh facebook page.

I don't mind but we just wanted to check. Thanks.

If anyone has any photos of the day then I would love to print them off to make an album along with all the other village event photos we now have.

You can email ridsdalesara@gmail.com with any photos. I've already got some come through to me already so thank you and Chris E has sent me the group photos at the church. Thanks for taking a fabulous photo Chris.

Also there are a few wine glasses, pint glasses and some plastic glasses left and a square plate and a toy which I now have in the house so if you are missing anything just pop down. I'll sort out bunting that was loaned to us this week.

On a personal note I would like to thank my friends on the committee for all their hard work and the lovely, kind things they said about Steve and I. We can't wait to see the tree grow over the coming years and I will treasure my medal and the memories.

Thanks again everyone.

Best wishes
Sara and the Jubilee Committee

Jubilee Event Info

Hi all,

Well the jubilee is getting closer. Can you let us know if you are vegetarian, vegan or gluten free.

I know some of you have already let us know so thanks for that.

Also if you have kindly offered to make a traybake, thank you very much. Can you let us know if it has nuts in it as we do have a villager with a nut allergy. Thank you.

I have printed onto card some jubilee bookmarks and also some colouring sheets and wordsearches, so if you are bringing children can you pop some felt tips or pencil crayons in your bag, thank you.

Barn preparations. I will be sweeping the barn out on Wednesday 1st June, from Wednesday afternoon you can bring your tables and chairs down to the barn. We will be decorating the barn Thursday and Friday. Any help appreciated. Thanks.

The committee have a meeting this Tuesday so I'll post any more details after then.

Jubilee Event Info

We aim to have all ticket requests collected in this week as the committee are meeting to check number of requests tonight (27th April).

If we have not collected your ticket request and you still wish to attend please drop your slip round to Sara at Common Farm, Gale Carr Lane.  If you are wishing to pay for your tickets you can drop payment around to Sara as well.

We aim to let villagers requesting non resident tickets know about their ticket requests by early May. We just need to count up the numbers.

Final date for ticket requests/pieandpea payment is 10th May.

The committee are making some table decorations and if anyone wishes to get creative and fill one of our homemade vases (a tin can) for their table please let Sara and the committee know and they will provide you with a tin! If any of the village children would like to colour in a paper crown or picture that can be stuck onto a stick to place in the homemade vases then please let Sara know.

The committee request volunteers to help with getting the grain store ready and decorated the weekend of May 28th/ week of May 30th.

We will need some extra tables and chairs so we will let people know about all of this via the village website closer to the date.

The committee are hoping to ask some villagers to make a traybake, so any keen bakers welcome to offer to do this.

Plan of day is wear red, white and blue for adults and teens. Younger children can come in any fancy dress.

Quick up date of the day - Meet at the church at 2pm and parade down Main Street to Stoneleigh. Garden games, treasure hunt and residents judging children's fancy dress. Leave Stoneleigh at 4pm for a 4.30pm start at the barn at Common Farm.

Ticket includes pie and pea supper, picnic party food for younger children to be provided by the committee, bring your own drinks. Entertainment to include royal picture quiz, royal awards, live music. Aim to finish around 10pm.

If anyone has any ideas or wants to offer help then please get in touch with Sara, Val, Alex, Tony or Helen.

We look forward to all getting together very soon. Thanks.

Just to let you know that we will be around to collect your jubilee ticket requests as soon as we can. Unfortunately a couple of the committee have covid so are unable to get out to pick them up at the moment.

If you want to drop your ticket request around then you can pop it round to myself (Sara at Common Farm, Gale Carr Lane) or any of the committee members.

Thanks

Bielby Platinum Jubilee Saturday 4th June 2022

Please see below the proposed outline of the afternoon and evening of our village Jubilee Celebrations. It will be very similar to 10 years ago.

I know some of you have already emailed to say you would like to come, so thank you for that.  We now have more details of food and entertainment so members of the committee will be bringing this invite around and then will collect it back in with numbers wishing to attend.

We have been asked about bringing family and friends who are not in the village. This will be dependent on numbers of Bielby residents attending. Last time we were able to have our family and friends with us. In fact nearly 150 of us attended last time!

On the ticket request form if you would like extended family/friends to come, if you can put in the numbers you would like to attend, then when we have all the invites back we can confirm your requests.

All Bielby residents are invited and welcome to attend. It will just be the non resident numbers that we have to confirm.

If you have any questions just give me a call on 01759 318286.

Thanks.

Sara

Below is a copy of the invite ticket request leaflet that will be delivered to your door!

Jubilee Event Saturday 4th June 2022

The village jubilee event will take place on the afternoon/evening of Saturday 4th June 2022 so please save the date.

A group of us are meeting this week to organise activities for the day. If anyone has any ideas or contacts for entertainment etc then please get in touch with Sara.

So that we can organise the event and get an idea of numbers, it would really help us if you could email Sara if you wish to attend and let us know the number of adults and children hoping to come, just so we have a rough idea of numbers.

We realise June is still a long way off and people's plans can change but it would help us to organise activities/catering/entertainment for the day if we have an idea of numbers.

If you could email Sara (ridsdalesara@gmail.com) by the 20th February that would be helpful.  Thank you very much. Thanks to all those who have already let us know.

Following our meeting this week we will put together the itinerary for the event and post it on here and and also drop round with an "invite" so we can get an idea of numbers.

If you have any ideas please get in touch.

We look forward to celebrating as a village once again.
