Anyone Fancy A Trip To The Races?

A few of the villagers thought it might be good to do a trip to the races. A proposed date is the night meeting at York on Friday 26th July. The Kaiser Chiefs will be playing that night as well.

If there are a few going then we may be able to share travel.

If anyone is interested then please let Neil Readman know.

Secretary Wanted For Parish Meetings

At the meeting on Monday we did not fully resolve the issue of a secretary for the next year. Peter has very kindly offered his services, but he is not really in a position to do this role fully.

If we are to continue to function as a parish meeting we need a secretary, therefore I am asking for someone to show a small commitment on behalf of the village and volunteer for this important role.

Thanks

Paul

Committee For Village Facility

At the parish meeting on Monday we agreed to form a committee, with losing the pub, to look at how we can get a village hall/facility to ensure we can enjoy an active community life for all residents who desire one.

This committee should be representative of the residents, therefore anyone wishing to be part of this committee please let me know. The committee needs to be small, possibly no more than 6 people. The following expressed an interest at the meeting:
Paul Ward
Jon Loss
Sara/Steve Ridsdale
Graham Tew

State Of The Roads

At the meeting on Monday there was genuine concern regarding the state of roads in and around Bielby. I explained the actions that had been taken so far and further suggested ALL residents write to elected officials to add weight to our concerns.

I have written to the following people as the Chair of the meeting, but would urge you all to do something positive and write as individuals. The more we bombard these people with our concerns, the less they can ignore them.
