Bielby Village Walk Sunday 30th December 2018

Bielby Village Walk Sunday 30th December 2018

Neil Readman has sorted out this year's route so meet at his house (Ambleside) next to the pub at 10am and then go in convoy to North Newbald where we are going on a lovely 6 mile walk incorporating part of the Wolds Way with hopefully fantastic views of the Vale of York and beyond.

Returning back to the centre of the village for refreshments at either of the village pubs in North Newbald - The Tiger or The Gnu. No catering has been booked, that is up to individuals to sort if they wish to do so.

Any queries ring Neil on 07860350858. Looking forward to a good turnout.

Bielby Christmas Concert

Bielby Christmas Concert Cheer

On Saturday 8th December a packed Bielby church enjoyed a festive concert performed by local choir Good Company, fresh from their appearance at Castle Howard.  Villagers and visitors heard and took part in a programme of old and traditional carols.  They also heard music on lute, pipe and tabor and hurdy-gurdy.  The mulled wine and mince pies went down particularly well.

The event raised £275 toward the church's upkeep.  The church council is grateful to everyone who made the occasion a great success.

Still to come this Christmas season at St Giles's:
Sun 23rd Dec 6.30 pm Carol Service
Tues 25 Dec 10.30 am Christmas Communion

(If, as in previous years, anyone would like to read a lesson at the Carol Service, please let warden John know, then we can get the reading to you in advance (john_peel@btopenworld.com)
