Jubilee Thanks

Hi All,

We can hardly put into words how amazing our jubilee event was from start to finish it was just fabulous. Thanks to all for helping make it such a wonderful event and making memories for us all. It was great coming together as a community.

Thanks to Dale, Leeanne, Will and Ed and all the team at Stoneleigh, Val and Pete, Alex, Tony, Helen, Steve, Ian, Judith and the Simpson family and all the band plus all our fabulous helpers in the village who made it a super day.

Thanks to all those who helped to clear, clean and decorate the barn prior to the event, to those who brought down the much needed chairs, tables, bales and other equipment - speakers, pa system, lights, staging, band equipment etc, thanks for the food, buns and traybakes went down a treat. Thanks for all the bunting, children's games, flags, photos, lights & table cloths that helped to make the barn look special plus the jubilee table arrangements by some villagers and the jubilee squares made by some of the village children and teens. Thanks for the live music and for preparing the children's food and helping on the day with serving the food. The bouncy castle and sports day games, drinks and cakes at Stoneleigh were a great hit with the children and adults and the medals for the fancy dress competition will be treasured for a long time to come. The children all looked brilliant in their fancy dress costumes so thanks for all your efforts.

Thanks to all those who helped with the smooth running of the event on the day and then all those who helped with the clear up on Sunday.

Thanks must also go to Laveracks for the pie and peas and Waterland Event Hire for the hire of the toilets.

Thanks to everyone who attended the event for making the day so special, everyone really got into the spirit of it and the sea of red, white and blue parading up the village was certainly a sight to see.

Thanks must go to the staff and residents of Stoneleigh for making the large crowd of villagers, friends, family and of course the "queen" so welcome.

Dale wondered if it would be ok to put some photos of the children in the sports day on the Stoneleigh facebook page.

I don't mind but we just wanted to check. Thanks.

If anyone has any photos of the day then I would love to print them off to make an album along with all the other village event photos we now have.

You can email ridsdalesara@gmail.com with any photos. I've already got some come through to me already so thank you and Chris E has sent me the group photos at the church. Thanks for taking a fabulous photo Chris.

Also there are a few wine glasses, pint glasses and some plastic glasses left and a square plate and a toy which I now have in the house so if you are missing anything just pop down. I'll sort out bunting that was loaned to us this week.

On a personal note I would like to thank my friends on the committee for all their hard work and the lovely, kind things they said about Steve and I. We can't wait to see the tree grow over the coming years and I will treasure my medal and the memories.

Thanks again everyone.

Best wishes
Sara and the Jubilee Committee
