The Parish Council Meetings will be held on Friday 2 nd August and Friday 13 th

Annual Parish meeting - 14 May 2019. One parishioner attended and raised the following:
Tar and chipping is required on Southfield Lane as well as through the village and
some drains need clearing following recent work to the highways. The drains have
been cleared. Southfield Lane is well down the Highways Department list.
Ash trees dying – the Parish Council should establish who is responsible for
removing trees which pose a potential hazard if they are located by the side of the
highway/in hedges. Normally the landowner.
Litter– the PC will contact Your East Riding News to suggest an article urging local
fast food and coffee outlets to provide better means of disposing of litter and to
display notices asking customers to use the bins or take their litter home.
Drains – standing water outside Guildford House needs attention. Attention was
given on 18th June and as a result there were a LOT OF Open Reach vans in the
village late into the evening! The problem is willow tree roots getting into the
drains, which East Riding Highways needs to address.

OPEN GARDENS 2019
Thank you to everyone who supported the event, by opening their gardens, helping in the village hall, baking cakes and so much more. We raised an amazing £1313. We were lucky with the weather – a sunny day between two very wet days so we had lots of visitors.
Congratulations to the winners of the Bugs, Bees and Butterflies Trail: Clair for her witty snail’s race, June & Gina for the beautiful flower butterflies and Yvonne for Charlotte the Spider.
SEATON ROSS HISTORY GROUP – Are you interested in joining a group to write and produce an illustrated booklet about the history of Seaton Ross and to collect more detailed information for a Seaton Ross history website? Do you have an interest in a particular area of history? Have you already collected information about the village? Come along to a meeting in the village hall on Tuesday 28th September @ 7.30pm to talk about how we can take this forward. If you would like to discuss anything before the meeting or are interested but unable to attend please ring Jane on 318411.
